CGSA Board Meeting held on Monday, 02/06/06

  • Game schedule is still tentative.  The proposed # of games are as follows:
    • 6U – 7 games each playing each team 1 time
    • 8U – 15 games playing each other 3 times.  Single elimination play-off at the end of the season
    • 10U – 18 games playing each other 3 times.  Due to field availability, 10U division will not have a end of season tournament
    • 12U – 20 games playing each other 4 times.  Single elimination play-off at the end of the season with the 1st place team receiving a bye until the championship game.
    • 14U - Will inter-league with Los Al, Cypress and Buena Park. Combined the two teams will have 18 home games
  • Snack Bar Duty
    • Only 7 parents per team will be required to sign-up for snack bar duty.  Upon finalizing the sign up forms and schedule (to be distributed by Scott Marshall) each manager must sign up volunteers and collect a $50 check deposit from the volunteer.  The deposit will be refunded at the end of the season assuming they have fulfilled their snack bar duty.  Each shift will be 2 hours and 15 minutes long on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday.
    • Other parents who do not sign up for snack bar duty will be asked to volunteer for park clean-up after each game.
  • Rosters needed from each team in every division
    • This is being addressed with the first request above
  • Wednesday, February 15th – Important Date
    • Pancake Money is due.  Drop off time is @ 6:00 PM at the Sports Complex snack bar.  PLEASE DO NOT BRING LOOSE CHANGE.  Be organized and have the money in one pile by consolidating envelopes, clipped or banded money.
    • Pick up uniforms @ 6:00 from Tracie Gutierrez.
    • Please provide a list of your team sponsors to the division commissioner
  • Opening Day
    • No cheer contest this year
    • Banner contest per division - $50 dollars to go to the winning team
    • 14U to compete against each other and not thrown in with the 12U teams
    • Estimated 1200 to 1300 in attendance for the pancake breakfast
  • Private Lessons
    • Pan Marquez has written a letter to city park officials that in a nutshell states that the CGSA does not sponsor or is affiliated with any private coaching offered to the CGSA players.  Any lessons taken outside of the team practices are done so at-will by the player / parent and are not affiliated with CGSA.
  • Off-Site Scrimmages
    • It was confirmed that if teams choose to scrimmage with team outside of our league, the league insurance will cover the team.  It is important to remember that the same rules apply: an ASA umpire is required to oversee the game and an adult female needs to be present in the dugout.
  • CGSA sponsored Beginner's Pitching Lessons not yet scheduled
